In California, an entrepreneur is developing a biodegradable pill bottle made from molded pulp. Jared Koett, 35, founded Invert and has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund development and production scale-up. He hopes to raise $37,000.

“We’ve created an alternative to the traditional pill bottle using paper,” Koett tells SDnews.com. “The Invert pill bottle is built to perform yet can reduce single-use plastic and boost a company’s bottom-line through warehousing efficiency and brand appeal.”

Plastic pill bottles currently being used take up a lot of space and have little marketing appeal, Koett adds. Invert’s bottles can be stacked, saving storage costs before and during distribution. Koett is working to gain USP compliance.
