Fishing-waste nanowhiskers get nod from innovation community

In Toronto, BOCO Technology Inc., a producer of chitin nanowhiskers, has been selected to present at CleanEquity® Monaco 2018. The invitation-only event gives innovators a platform to meet with potential investors and partners.

BOCO Technology Inc. is the world’s first commercial producer of chitin nanowhisker, a fully biobased and biodegradable nanomaterial derived from fishing waste. Extracted from crab and shrimp shells, CNW exhibits ultra-high strength, toughness, low density, biocompatibility, barrier, and antimicrobial properties. CNW have applications ranging from plastics, composites, adhesives, biomedical devices, 3D printing, and energy conversion and storage.
