In Wisconsin, SC Johnson multinational brand has acquired biobased brands Method and Ecover in an effort to expand their eco-friendly products. Details of the deal were not disclosed since SC Johnson is a private company, but the acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals in the U.S., UK and Germany. Method is based in Ecover and bought out San Francisco based Method several years ago making it one of the world’s largest green cleaning products company. Considering SC Johnson is a huge multinational with many cleaning brands such as Pledge and Mr. Muscle and more and more consumers are demanding eco-friendly and more sustainable products, it makes sense that SC Johnson eyed Ecover and Method to expand their biobased product line.
