In Minnesota, BioSpan Technologies’ soybean-based pavement additive has been helping cut costs in road upkeep for several years.

RePLAY Agricultural Oil Seal and Preservation Agent contains 56% soybean oil and helps reverse oxidation process below the surface of asphalt.

“With soybeans being such a large crop in Minnesota, this is a promising application of the commodity in the significant transportation market,” says Mike Youngerberg of the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council.

Minnesota produces more than 3 billion bushels of soybeans annually. RePLAY has been used as a sealant on about 118,000 lane miles in Minnesota, consuming about 100 bushels of soybeans mile.
