According to Honda, DURABIO provides the toughness and other features required for motorcycle bodywork parts, as well as a “glossy, sophisticated look” achieved by simply adding colorants. “The added value given by the ability to eliminate the conventional painting process was a major factor in the decision to adopt DURABIO for this application, marking its first use for paintless bodywork for motorcycles,” Honda said in a press release.
The material, which is made from plant-based isosorbide, is already being used in Honda motorcycle windshields, offering “outstanding protection against headwinds.”
