In Texas, Sasol Chemicals has launched NACOL 18-98, a palm oil-free, biobased stearyl alcohol solution designed for the personal care industry.

NACOL 18-98 is made from segregated rapeseed oil, a renewable resource sourced locally in Europe. It has a significantly lower carbon footprint compared to palm oil-based alternatives addresses concerns surrounding deforestation and the environmental impact of palm oil-derived products. It is also a drop-in replacement, easily integrating into existing formulations.

Compliant with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), NACOL 18-98 ensures that companies importing palm oil derivatives into the EU can meet traceability requirements, proving their products are not sourced from deforested land.
