In Singapore, PCS Pte. Ltd. will use renewable feedstocks supplied by Neste Corporation to produce chemicals for customers in Southeast Asia.
Under the terms of the deal, Neste will provide PCS with Neste RE™, a renewable material derived from waste sources, such as used cooking oil and residues from vegetable oil processing. PCS will use Neste RE to produce vital products like ethylene, propylene, and butadiene at its Jurong Island facilities. The initial deliveries will include butadiene to Mitsubishi Corporation, Toray Plastics (Malaysia), and Synthomer.
“We are establishing one of the first ISCC-certified renewable value chains for butadiene in the region,” Hisashi Shibayama, Managing Director at PCS, said in a press statement.
