In Germany, chemical major Lanxess is targeting “sustainable product variants” for its entire portfolio of flavors and fragrances, preservatives and animal nutrition products by the end of 2023.

To secure sustainable raw materials—which include biobased, circular and raw materials with a reduced carbon footprint from the use of renewable energies—the business unit has entered into strategic collaborations with key suppliers.

Lanxess focuses on certified materials in accordance with the ISCC PLUS mass balance approach when using sustainable raw materials in its production facilities.

“With the transformation of our production, we are pioneers in offering sustainable products and are actively shaping the development towards more sustainability in the personal and home care industry,” Holger Hueppeler, Head of the Flavors & Fragrances business unit, said in a press statement. “At the same time, we are helping our customers to achieve their own sustainability goals.”
