In Hong Kong, tech multinational Lenovo is reportedly planning to use flax fibers in one of its products. The Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen2 laptop, set to launch this summer, features a woven flax fiber case.

According to Forbes, the case is 75% recycled aluminum, bonded with flax “made from 100% agricultural product collected by harvesting flax plant fibers.” In terms of performance, this latest ThinkPad is “equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7000 series processor, complemented by AMD Radeon 700M Series graphics.” The base model will retail for €1,649 ($1,737), while the Z16 Gen 2 will set buyers back €2,249 ($2,369).

In 2021, Dell launched the Precision 3560 and Latitude 5320 in India with bioplastic casings made from tree waste.
