In South Korea, TissenBioFarm claims it has created the world’s first cultivated meat with cell density equal to conventional meat—a key milestone for cost parity and texture fidelity.

The company said the key was approaching cultivated meat as tissues, not simple aggregation of cells on scaffolding.

Adjusting the initial cell density makes it possible to create cultivated meat with a structure comparable to that of a real ribeye steak. Tissen BioFarm also showed that it is possible to achieve more than double the cell density typically found in conventional meat, the company told Green Queen.
