Made out of wood fiber, Aisti’s acoustic tiles are a sustainable alternative to traditional ceiling panels, which contain mineral fibers and release potentially harmful particles into indoor air.
The loan will help Aisti double production capacity at its Kitee plant in Eastern Finland. The facility is expected to begin manufacturing operations in late 2026. It will be capable of producing 2.5 million square meters of panels annually, which is nearly 20% of the market for acoustic panels in the Nordic countries.
“Europe’s green transition depends on the emergence of innovative companies like Aisti,” EIB Vice President Karl Nehammer told DevDiscourse. “By backing this project, we are promoting the circular economy, supporting rural development, and reinforcing Europe’s capacity to produce sustainable construction materials at scale.”
