The partnership will leverage CCIC’s platform resources for research, development, and industrialization of biobased resin systems and Michelin’s ResiCare technology, which replaces traditional resorcinol-formaldehyde adhesives in tires and other industrial applications with biobased alternatives.
“The environmental characteristics and performance advantages of Michelin ResiCare technology are highly compatible with our development philosophy,” Professor Chris Rudd, chief scientist of the CCIC, told JEC Composites. “We see countless opportunities for joint development, and while promoting mutual growth, we will always adhere to our commitment to the environment, public health and quality of life.”
