In South Korea, green tea and agricultural cooperative Sumang has announced plans to expand its R&D efforts on functional biomaterials sourced from Jeju, a volcanic island off the coast of South Korea. Sumang will also actively pursue joint R&D projects with various organizations to discover and commercialize new, competitive biobased materials.
Sumang added that as demand for functional and natural raw materials continues to grow, the company “remains committed to developing unique ingredients sourced from Jeju’s pure ecosystem to meet market demands. The cooperative will continue its efforts to develop competitive new materials that highlight the value and purity of Jeju’s natural resources.”
