In France, cultivated meat company Gourmey has acquired Vital Meat and formed a new entity called PARIMA. The merger combines Gourmey’s production platform—known for its cultivated duck and cost-efficient processes—with Vital Meat’s poultry cell-line technology, developed from decades of avian cell research at Groupe Grimaud.
PARIMA now holds nine regulatory filings across major global markets and has partnerships with culinary professionals and agrifood companies. The new entity also gains Vital Meat’s Nantes facility, adding 2,000-liter bioreactor capacity and advanced avian cell lines. PARIMA will lead global scaling and industrial growth, while Gourmey continues as its culinary and innovation division, focusing on premium products and chef collaborations.
CEO Nicolas Morin-Forest described the move as timely for industry consolidation and scale-up.
