EF Polymer raises $17.8M for biobased SAPs

In Japan, 100% biobased super absorbent polymers startup EF Polymer K.K.  has raised $17.8 million in a Series B financing.

EF Polymer has reached global sales of 500 tons and has repurposed over 5,000 tons of agricultural waste. The company is currently running demonstration projects in drought-prone areas including France, Spain, Italy, and Portugal. Applications include agriculture, cosmetics, personal care products, and absorbent sheets.

Investors participating in the round include Impact Capital I Limited Partnership, AgVenture Lab, Amami Okinawa Investment Limited Partnership (Kagoshima Development Co., Ltd.), and EMA Enterprise Co., Ltd., among others.
