In France, Lallemand Bio-Ingredients has completed its acquisition of Solyve, a French enzyme producer known for its expertise in solid-state fermentation and strong position in food and beverages.

Solyve, formerly known as Lyven S.A., was founded in 1989 and operates a modern production facility in Normandy. It specializes in high-performance enzymes used in winemaking, juice and vegetable processing, and plant-based foods. It was previously a subsidiary of the InVivo Group, a major French agricultural cooperative.

The acquisition follows Lallemand Inc.’s earlier announcement of exclusive talks to acquire Solyve and AIT Ingredients, both subsidiaries of Moulins Soufflet, which is part of Groupe InVivo.

“Solyve brings a complementary set of capabilities and products to Lallemand Bio-Ingredients’ rapidly expanding enzyme business,” said Lars Asferg, President and General Manager of Lallemand Bio-Ingredients, told vegconomist. “Their expertise will further support our efforts to offer high-performance enzymes across a wide range of food and beverage applications.”
