In Colorado, biobased pigments startup Living Ink has closed a $3 million investment round.
Living Ink converts biomass waste into renewable colorants. Its first product, Algae Black, is a drop-in alternative to petroleum-derived carbon black.
Meliorate Partners, Evergreen Climate Innovations, Savia Ventures, Fashion for Good and Norfolk Green Ventures participated in the funding, which will be used to scale production.
“Living Ink is revolutionizing sustainable materials with its groundbreaking algae-based ink technology. Their commitment to innovation and eco-friendly solutions aligns perfectly with our vision for investing in companies that will shape the future,” John Soukas, CEO and co-founder at Norfolk Green Ventures, recently told Sourcing Journal.
