In Switzerland, specialty chemical maker Clariant has launched a wax solution that addresses the increasing supply chain complexities facing formulators who rely on carnauba wax for printing ink applications.

Though renewable, carnauba wax sourcing is challenged by seasonal harvesting limitations, climate dependencies, and labor-intensive collection processes.  Clariant’s Ceridust 1310 is a micronized rice bran wax blend  manufactured through controlled industrial processes, ensuring consistent quality.

“The printing ink industry needs reliable solutions that can ensure consistent production schedules,” Ray Gonzales, Clariant’s Head of Global Marketing Coatings & Adhesives, said in a press statement. “Ceridust 1310 offers formulators the stability they need, reducing their vulnerability to carnauba wax supply fluctuations while maintaining high performance standards.”
