In France, specialty ingredient company Seqens has launched a completely biobased caprylyl glycol for cosmetics applications. Dubbed AdvensProtect 8 Green, the ingredient serves as a humectant, emollient and preservative booster, lowering the number of ingredients needed in the formula and improving its sustainability profile.
According to Seqens, the ingredient’s short lipophilic chain is able to integrate with lipid structures in the skin’s upper layers, optimizing moisture retention. AdvensProtect 8 Green also acts as a viscosity regulator to enhance the sensorial profile of formulations.
