In the UK, a company specializing in electrifying classic cars has redone an Aston Martin DB6 to also include renewable and recycled interior materials. Lunaz tells Motor1 the retrofitted ultra-luxury car is “the most sustainable Aston Martin ever created.”
One of only 1,788 DB6s built between 1965 and 1970, Lunaz converted the car’s 4.0-liter gasoline engine to an electric motor with 255 miles of range and fast-charging capabilities. Lunaz also made changes to the interior, including the use of an egg and nutshell composite for the dashboard and shifter. Biobased polyurethane is used on the door cards, while seat leather piping was made from an apple waste material.
One thing that didn’t change was the price tag you’d expect from a luxury and bespoke classic car. The Aston Martin DB6 EV by Lunaz runs just over $800,000.
