In Colorado, popular clog brand Crocs has pushed back its targets for achieving net zero operations from 2030 to 2040, calling the revised timeline “still ambitious” but “more… realistic.”

The company said in an ESG report that it had set the 2030 target before completing a key acquisition and finishing a comprehensive study of its current emissions.

The company did, however, reiterate its plans to swap half of the material in its classic clogs to biobased materials by 2030, with an interim target of reaching 20% by the end of the year. Currently, biobased content stands at 2.2%.

Crocs sold 115.6 million pairs of shoes in 2022.
