In Switzerland, trendy watch maker Swatch is staying on point with fashion trends by introducing a five-piece collection of timepieces featuring bioceramics.

The material mixes conventional ceramic with a bioplastic derived from castor oil and is used in the casing of its Big Bold watch, available in black, white, light grey, sky blue and powder pink.

The proportion of ceramic to bioplastic is 3:1. The watches also feature bioplastic straps.

Swatch tells hypebeast it plans on using the Bioceramic material throughout all its watches, but is not targeting completely plastic-free watches just yet.

The Big Bold Bioceramic watch will be available starting April 15 and will retail for £108 GBP ($149 USD).
