In Israel, cultured meat startup Aleph Farms has unveiled the world’s first cultivated, 3D-printed Ribeye steak. Developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering at the Israel Institute of Technology, the steak contains muscle and fat with a structure identical to a steak made from a cow. To make animal-free delicacy, the team bioprinted living cells, which were then incubated in a way that the structure eventually resembled a Ribeye steak. Aleph Farms, which says it can now create any cut of beef, aims to have its “BioFarm” operational by 2022, according to The Spoon.

Aleph Farms’ announcement comes shortly after Eat Just achieved the world’s first commercial sale of cultured meat.
