The biodegradable Bamboo Charcoal Toothbrush includes a handle coated in beeswax to keep the bamboo from absorbing water. Recycled cardboard will be used as packaging.
“The launch of the Colgate Bamboo Charcoal Toothbrush marks just one step in our journey to reducing plastic use,” Philip Durocher, general manager at Colgate UK, tells Business Green. The company aims to use 100% recyclable packaging by 2025. It already has a partnership with Terracycle, which has recycled almost a quarter of a million oral care products.
“[W]e are always looking for innovative ways to ensure our products not only provide top quality oral care, but are also increasingly environmentally friendly,” Durocher adds.
