In Ohio, consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble has launched Downy Nature Blends, a fabric conditioner made with plant-based ingredients.

According to P&G, more than 20% of garments are discarded because they have lost their shape, color, or integrity.  “We want to help everyone care for the clothes they love, and that means keeping them looking newer, longer,” says Nate Lawton, Director of P&G North America Fabric Care. “We created Downy Nature Blends to help people incorporate more plant-based products into their daily lives, without compromising on great care for their clothes.”

Downy Nature Blends is certified through the USDA BioPreferred program, with 70% of the formula made from biobased ingredients. It is also produced using 100% renewable wind power electricity at a zero-manufacturing waste to landfill facility.
