People can get a special keycard at a homeless drop-in support center in Nottingham called the Friary, and then use the keycard to access any of the items in the vending machine they need that are donated by local redistribution organizations looking to reduce food waste. Cardholders can choose up to three items per day from the machine and are required to attend local support services once a week. The machines are low cost with donated goods and volunteers who manage their refilling and day to day operations.
