In Oklahoma, Ingredion, producer of sweeteners, starches, nutrition ingredients and biomaterials, celebrated 60 new jobs at its grand opening of a new office in Tulsa. Headquartered in Chicago, the Tulsa office will handle Ingredion’s accounting and have executive managers and accountants working out of that space. Chief Financial Officer Jim Gray told Tulsa World that after looking for a new site for the last four years and after sixteen cities competed for Ingredion’s new offices, Tulsa won out because of its “soft side, a qualitative welcoming side that was most appreciated.”
“We’ll run our accounting that closes out a quarter for the corporation and for U.S./Canada here,” Gray said. “It will be some of the highest and most qualified CPAs that you can hire. They are not just doing the transactions for U.S. and Canada. They also are closing our books globally.”
