In Italy, Vegea completed its first wardrobe capsule made entirely of a biobased leather made from grapes. After working with research centers on the science of making the alternative leather from vinaccia, the whole grain seeds and skins that are produced during the wine making process, Vegea has finally created its first fashion prototypes. The apparel was designed by designer and creative director, Tiziano Guardini and a team of artists to convert apparel into artistic fashion using the grape-based leather material.
As reported in NUU in June, Vegea was planning on rolling out the prototypes in October, and readers can now view them online at Ambiente Ambienti’s site.
