More pounds of usable material

In a US-based cornfield, the average annual yield is at around 172 bushels per acre. A lot of of optimization and science has gone into that over the past century.

Converting Cellana’s scientific data into bushels (56 pounds in a bushel) for comparison, you can produce, annually, 1184 bushels per acre in an commercial algae system.

The yields were reported by the Algae Biomass Organization here  – the link is currently broken to the underlying research but we believe it is this 2015 study reported in Algal Research.
