In Delaware, DuPont researchers laid off ahead of the company’s megamerger with Dow Chemical have formed Science, Technology & Research Institute of Delaware, a nonprofit contract research organization.

STRIDE will be among the first tenants to lease space at DuPont Experimental Station, an incubator established by DuPont, the state of Delaware, and the University of Delaware to attract businesses and help employ some of the 200 scientists the company let go in 2016.

While STRIDE will offer expertise in polymers, computational chemistry, and organometallic synthesis, Delaware Innovation Space president William D. Provine says the center’s tenants will likely include biobased startups as well.
