In Vancouver, Abattis Bioceuticals has launched a sunscreen formulation with cannabidiol.

Dubbed RAYZ, the all-natural, 100% organic sunscreen was developed by Abattis’s majority owned subsidiary, Northern Vine Canada Inc. and will be marketed by its wholly owned subsidiary, Vergence Visionary Bioceuticals. The SPF 30 sunscreen is free of tetrahydrocannabinol, but includes a cannabinoid-rich organic hemp oil that conveys enhanced skin absorption and bioavailability.

RAYZ exceeds the core recommendations from the American Academy of Dermatology and the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation, namely standards designating broad spectrum protection and water resistance.

Vergence will add RAYZ to its bioceuticals lines in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

“We are confident that RAYZ will be the first of many Cannabis infused products the Company will bring to the market as Canada continues down the path towards recreational legalization of marijuana,” says Robert Abenante, President, CEO & Director of Abattis.
