In California, the grass is greener on the other side for VIASPACE CEO, Haris Basit, who resigned effective July 31 to move to a Silicon Valley based tech company. VIASPACE grows Giant King Grass as a low-carbon fuel for clean electricity generation; for environmentally friendly energy pellets; and as a feedstock for bio-methane production and for green cellulosic biofuels, biochemicals and biomaterials.
As reported in February in Biofuels Digest, Clean Energy Solutions retained VIASPACE as its agriculture feedstock resource and engineering expert for renewable energy projects being pursued in Hawaii. Check out the Biofuels Digest Multi-Slide Guide on VIASPACE for details on its giant king grass.
Basit will be on the Board of Directors so he won’t disappear completely from VIASPACE and is remaining a large investor in the company. Largest shareholder and Board Chairman Dr. Kevin Schewe will step in as acting CEO for now.
Dr. Schewe said in their press release, “VIASPACE will use this time of leadership transition to further minimize overhead expenses and continue to focus on our projects that carry the greatest likelihood of meaningful revenue generation.”
