In Pennsylvania and Austria, antimicrobial solutions Noble Biomaterials and cellulose fibers specialist Lenzing Group are collaborating to develop sustainable, anti-odor fabrics. The fabrics, which will use Noble’s XT2 silver-based technology to provide anti-odor protection, can be washed less frequently while also has the ability to maintain freshness. Unlike topical finishes, silver is permanent to the yarn and will not wash out or wear off. The new fabrics will offer activewear brands a more natural textile alternative to polyester.
Earlier this year Noble teamed with up with product design and development group Bemis Associates to develop seamless, conductive-advanced materials that allows electronics to be integrated into apparel.
