In Canada, the Government of Canada announced an investment of up to $6.3 million for the Greenhouse Juice Company to invest in new-to-Canada, cold pasteurization technologies to help increase the shelf life of its organic juices, while maintaining the nutrition and freshness of its products. Greenhouse Juice specializes in manufacturing and selling organic and cold-pressed juice.
This investment enables Greenhouse Juice to expand into their new Mississauga, Ontario facility, generating hundreds of job opportunities. This expansion and the cold-pasteurization technology adoption will allow Greenhouse Juice to purchase significantly more Canadian-grown fruits and vegetables, and produce juice for both Canadian and international markets.
“Our food and beverage processing industry must stay on the cutting edge through investments in innovation, to succeed in today’s marketplace. Investments such as this one will help grow Canadian agri-businesses and expand their markets, while strengthening the middle class,” said Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food.
