In Germany, Swiss masterbatch firm Sukano and Total Corbion PLA have launched a range of functional and optical polylactic acid masterbatches. The materials offer improved properties, such as impact, mould-release, antistatic, and antiblock for nested products and color masterbatches.
The PLA masterbatches, based on Total Corbion’s Luminy neat PLA resins, will be sold exclusively by Sukano.
“As we strategically join forces in the bioplastics value chain to further promote new PLA applications and market penetrations, the addition of Luminy-based masterbatches to our existing product portfolio further supports our customers’ needs and goals,” Alessandro Funcia, Head of Marketing at Sukano, tells eppm.
The announcement was made at Interpack 2017, held last week in Düsseldorf.
