In Colorado, Wilbur-Ellis Agribusiness, a precision agriculture technology company that focuses on plant protection chemistry, plant nutrition and seed technology, acquired Innovative Seed and Consulting, LLC, an agribusiness retailer in Minnesota. Both are family owned businesses and Innovative Seed Owner, Dean Schrom, said selling the business to a successful family owned company was key for him. Schrom also told Crop Life, “Becoming part of Wilbur-Ellis will provide us with the long-term resources necessary to compete in today’s rapidly-changing agribusiness environment and to enable us to continue to deliver the exceptional service and premier product lines our customers both deserve and expect.” Doug Sigurdson, Wilbur-Ellis Area Manager, told Crop Life, “Acquiring this business allows us the opportunity to expand our agronomy service across important areas of Southern Minnesota and beyond.”
