In British Columbia, Tilray received regulatory approval from Canada and Chile to send its medical cannabis to Chile. Tilray was the first company to export medical cannabis from North America to Australia and the EU, and is now focusing on its expansion to Latin America. Chile-based Alef Biotechnology SpA is helping Tilray to import the cannabis into Chile and will also be the exclusive distributor of Tilray cannabis in Brazil.
Tilray not only produces and provides hospitals and doctors with high quality certified medical cannabis, but it also supplies it for clinical trials and research. Current trials using Tilray cannabis at various hospitals and universities include looking at medical cannabis’s effectiveness for military veterans and others who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, for nausea and vomiting from chemotherapy, and for children suffering from a treatment-resistant epilepsy syndrome.
