In Los Angeles, an all-natural consumer products company owned by movie star Jessica Alba is facing backlash after a voluntary recall of baby powder.

Honest Company, valued at $1.7 billion in 2016, had already been under fire after The Wall Street Journal revealed that the company’s laundry detergents contained a commonly used, petrochemical surfactant—despite the brand’s insistence that all its ingredients were natural.

Honest Company says the baby powder recall is due to possible contamination with microorganisms that could cause skin or eye infections. The recall comes as the company is reportedly eyeing an initial public offering or sale.
