In India, two companies, Urogyn B.V. and Leader Biomedical, are joining forces to help bring to market a new product that can help women with common urinary leakage issues when they laugh, sneeze, cough or exercise. The new product, called Urolastic, is made out of a rubbery compound, is injectable under local anesthesia, can be removed if needed, and can be used long-term. Urogyn focuses on creating products based on polymer technology for incontinence for both men and women as well as birth control, while Leader Biomedical focuses on biomaterials and implants, making this joint project a collaboration to provide solutions to medical issues facing many people today.
