In Ontario, Xenemetrix Ltd., announced the commercialization of its precision agriculture technology will commence in 2017 under a new company called Croptimal. The technology is a mobile testing laboratory equipped with integrated multi-spectral spectroscopy and solution electric measurement units for a full range of material analysis of nutrients and contaminates in soil, water and crop samples in the field.
Sample collection, preparation, analysis and submission of results is completed in minutes as compared to the usual 10-day cycle using traditional laboratories. The data collected by Croptimal will provide intelligent, actionable information to help farmers increase yields and boost revenues while minimizing expenses and the chance of crop failure.
Commercialization will commence with pilot customers in Israel. The target customers are individual farmers and supporting agronomists; and, the database is targeted to regional, national and global food supply organizations. Both Xenemetrix and Croptimal are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Eurocontrol Technics Group Inc.
