It is also free of allergens, gluten, and genetically modified organisms and has a neutral flavor and texture. Algal Lipid-Rich Whole Protein is free of trans fat and cholesterol and is a healthier alternative to reduce or replace dairy fats, oil, and egg yolks.
According to market research firm Mintel, 30% of Americans report eating more non-animal sources of protein. Demand for plant-based proteins is increasing along with vegetarian and vegan diets along with demand for allergen-free protein sources.
