According to Plastics News, China XD will break ground in March 2017 at Nanchong, Sichuan province, with startup slated for October 2018. Fifty production lines are planned, and targeted applications include food packaging, engineering, and light-weighting applications. The company started up a separate 300,000 ton/year bioplastics plant at Nanchong in July.
Another $43 million will be invested to build capacity for 3-D printing materials, including fused deposition modeling filaments and selective laser sintering powder.
