Deinove, which uses Deinococcus bacteria to produce carotenoids, is targeting 2018 to begin product sales. The company has a “strategic goal” to market carotenoids in ingredient forms for direct use by its target markets, but does not plan on developing its own production facilities.
Under the terms of the partnership, Processium will help Deinove choose subcontractors to produce carotenoids for healthcare, nutrition, and cosmetics markets, as well as develop a carotenoid separation and purification process.
“Like us, Processium works in the chemistry, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics fields and we share the same values and challenges—saving time so we can get our first products to market quickly and optimizing our carotenoid production units in terms of economic and environmental performances,” says Emmanuel Petiot, CEO of Deinove.
