In Thailand, Corbion has broken ground on a polylactic acid plant that will produce both standard and high heat resistant PLA.

The 75,000 tons per year plant, located at Rayong, will use polymerization technology from both Corbion and Sultzer. Corbion is also investing in its lactide production capabilities in Thailand by expanding its existing plant by 25,000 tons per year and increasing the range of lactides it currently manufactures there.  Start-up of both the lactides expansion and PLA plant is expected in the second half of 2018.
