In the U.S., Beige Market Intelligence published a report listing what they consider the top consumer board packaging companies globally based on their research. The report notes that consumer board is the most widely used type of packaging in the global market with revenue share of 41% in 2015. They predict that the consumer board market will continue to grow and reach $131.6 billion by 2021. While some of the companies they listed are the expected big hitters like Tennessee based International Paper, they also highlighted some smaller companies like Finland based Stora Enso. Stora Enso focuses on sustainable, renewable sources like pulp and on innovative biomaterials and fiber based packaging. Finland based Metsa Group, which focuses on forestry products as well as bioenergy, made their emerging companies list.
