In North Carolina, the Research Triangle Park AgTech Accelerator received another $8.5 million in funding via Elanco, bringing the accelerator’s total funding to $20 million since inception in May this year. Since agriculture companies have cut back funding for new projects to increase investments in existing ones, it’s been a challenge for new projects to get off the ground with less funding than in past years. The AgTech Accelerator is hoping to help fund projects in crop protection, animal health, and precision agriculture and is working with seven university partners: North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Duke University; Pennsylvania State University; Purdue University; University of California, Davis; and Washington State University.
