In Canada, Ingenuity Lab Carbon Solutions advanced to the next round of the $20 million NRG COSIA Carbon XPRIZE. The prize was created to find scientists who can find ways to convert carbon dioxide emissions into valuable products. Ingenuity has entered the competition with its technology that converts a natural gas power plant’s carbon dioxide waste into actual chemical products. Ingenuity has their work cut out for the next 10 months, as they now have to demonstrate how their technology works on a pilot scale in order to get through the next round. And if they pass that test? They get to show how it works on a real power plant for the final round.
