Nova Economia funds uses Cbios in three-way financing
In Brazil, Valor Economico reports decarbonization credits (CBios), created for distributors to meet their greenhouse gas emission reduction targets in the RenovaBio program, can be used as a “currency” within a new fund created by the manager Iwá. It will be possible to use fund quotas to ensure barter operations between biofuel plants, agricultural input suppliers and distributors. So distributors will now be able to buy CBios on time. The Nova Economia was begun in 2024 and through this new instrument trialed a transaction based on CBios between a sugarcane ethanol producer and Bayer.
