North America hydrogen fuel cell heavy duty truck market to reach $1.6 billion in 2035, research finds
In Delaware, Global Market Insights reported that the North America hydrogen fuel cell heavy duty truck market is expected to grow from $37.4 million in 2026 to $1.59 billion in 2035, at a CAGR of 51.7%.
The research firm noted that the market was estimated at $3.2 million in 2025.
In terms of units, the year 2025 is accounting for around 7 units sold. The truck units are projected to surpass 4,642 units by 2035 at a CAGR of around 56.4% between 2026 and 2035.
“The United States is anticipated to remain the dominant market within North America for hydrogen fuel-cell heavy trucks, accounting for over 90% of North American regional revenue, on account of aggressive state-level zero-emission mandates, an early-mover refueling infrastructure base concentrated in California, and substantial federal capital directed at hydrogen production and deployment,” the report noted.
