Nordic countries look to create regional biofuel blending mandates through 2030

In Finland, the country is encouraging its neighbors in the Nordic region to raise their bets on biofuels by creating a regional blending mandate of 20%, double the European Union’s mandate for 2020 that has no specific target through to 2030. The plan goes beyond the 20% mandate with a proposal for 40% by 2030. Though other Nordic countries have set similar goals, nothing formal has been agreed for the region, so the proposal will be discussed a meeting going on currently in Finland.
